Add people from the family tree

This is a great novelty on Geneafinder! You can now add people and events directly from the Visualization of your tree. 

To do this, click the button See the tree menu. Your tree now appears directly in Edition fashion. Thanks to this edition mode, two buttons are displayed next to the names of the people in your tree: 

- the button Modify the sheet (pencil icon) : It allows you to access the event entry space and information on a person with one click. As in the entry interface accessible from the button Complete the tree On the menu, you can add, modify or delete events, dates, places as well as family ties. 

- the button Add a person (icon +) : It allows you to add a new person connected to the selected person. By clicking on this button, you can choose the relationship with this new person: parent, child or spouse. The seizure space opens, you can enter the personal details of the new person: name, first name, gender and their events. You can check that the kinship between the two people exists - it appears well in their two files. 

To view your tree without seeing the editing/addition buttons, click the button Show/hide the buttons (person and pencil icon). It is thanks to this button that you can spend From visualization mode to edit mode of your family tree. 

Obviously, you can also Add new people or access the existing sheets in the entry space Accessible from the button Complete the tree menu. 

Choose the number of generations to see in the tree

Another novelty, you can now choose the number of generations of your family tree that you want to see. To do this, in the tree visualization tool, click on arrows in the high right corner To show an information bar. Adjust the number of generations then click on the Button See (eye icon). You can change this parameter at any time. 

Search and see a person in the tree

Cette fonctionnalité existe depuis longtemps, mais l’utilisez-vous correctement ? En utilisant la barre de recherche dans la barre d’information, vous pouvez retrouver facilement une personne of your family tree. Commencez à taper un nom ou un prénom et cliquez sur la personne que vous souhaitez voir. Celle-ci s’affiche comme nouvelle personne-racine. Vous pouvez, à partir de cette personne-racine, naviguez dans votre arbre en cliquant sur les boutons Ascendants/Descendants. 

Change the orientation of the family tree

Some of you have already tried it - the change of orientation of the family tree! At the vertical or horizontal, you choose. To change the orientation just click on the family tree button at the top left;

As a reminder, the color code is not by chance! It helps you in organizing your research. Indeed: an individual in green = you have regained his birth, his marriage and his death - an individual in yellow = you have found at least two of these events - an individual in red = you lack a lot of information. So you know where (re) start your genealogical research!
