Life is an eternal beginning in the same way as fashion ... The trends of this year 2020 are specific to our time but to make the new one, it is often necessary to be inspired by the old man.
Our more or less close ancestors could be surprised by our current fashion items. Because 2020 is no exception to the rule and fashion influencers borrow and appropriate what has already been done. Back on a few trends of this year and their origins ...
Bermuda
He came back in force this summer (some even predict that he will dethrone the jeans shorts) and will even be worn this winter, Bermuda is not very young.
It is the British army that made it popular in the 19th century. Park in tropical regions, they obtained authorization to shorten their pants to better support hot temperatures provided they keep their blazer, tie and rising socks. Its name comes from the Bermuda, the North America archipelago which has largely adopted the outfit to the point of having become an element of the national costume carried by the police and the local aristocracy.
With us it is rather children or athletes who will carry Bermuda until the 1960s and the arrival of more comfortable outfits. Women appropriate Bermuda already in 2014 for its sport-chic side. This year, we wear it in leather, leather or velvet.
Ballon or Largeot pants
We love it for its high waist, its loose cut and its narrower hem, balloon pants or Slouchy Jean seems to be the new fashion trend.
But its origin does not date from today, the balloon or Largeot pants is originally a work pants created in 1896 by Adolphe Lafont specialist in professional clothes (and also the creator of the overalls).
At the time, there were four colors in Largeot for different professions: the ecru for stone tailors and sculptors, black for carpenters and roofers, blue for the carpenters of Marine and the brown for carpenters and cabinetmakers.
The Largeot is steep, we do not wash but we beat it and brush it and it is narrowed with ankles to avoid falls. We find on this pants a piped pocket on the thigh (to put a gauge, a meter, a pencil), a tightening leg (to hang a hammer) and a pocket pocket. If it was originally intended for building companions (such as ceremonial costume), city dwellers and bourgeois allowed themselves to be seduced by this work pants.

The tailor
We see it everywhere, with patterns, flashy, oversize, the tailor is a safe bet in our wardrobes, a classic. Borrowed from men, the tailor is also a symbol of the release of the social status of women in a certain time.
But at the origin of this well -known whole, it is first of all the girlfriend that democratized in women in the 17th century. This fitted jacket, stapled on the front, worn with a skirt, allows women to ride a horse.
Shoulder shoulders
This small padding on the shoulder from the military uniform resurfaces in our cupboards!
After an appearance in the 1940s and then in the 80s, our t-shirts and our jackets accommodate it again.
The origin of this fashion is however very old. From the Renaissance, men and women
Dress these pairs of puffy sleeves to associate with several outfits.
Later, at the heyday, oversized sleeves become fashionable again, we speak rather of leg sleeves.
