The uniform is a military symbol, a coat which, once coated, makes it possible to represent his country, his nation, in peacetime as in wartime. 

On aurait tort de croire que la guerre n’a un impact  que sur les générations concernées par le conflit et le port de cet habit symbolique. En fait les répercussions sont beaucoup plus importantes que cela. Les soldats sont pères, maris, frères, oncles, grand-pères… Autant de personnes qui transmettront ce lourd héritage à leur descendance. The demographic impact of war

There are many studies concerning the demographic consequences of war. Beyond the losses caused by deaths, it is necessary to take into account the births that they have prevented. However, we note that after many wars, including the 2^eWorld War, many developed countries have experienced a now famous "baby boom" thanks, among other things, to improve the standard of living, then followed by a grandpa boom, a reflection of the aging of the population. War also has demographic consequences for those who stay at the "rear" because it is accompanied by many epidemics, linked to disastrous health conditions and deprivation. 

War does not only have negative consequences

It would be wrong to consider war only from a negative point of view, even if it is obviously the majority. Wars have also caused a number of improvements, reflecting the expression "we learn from his mistakes".

War has contributed to the invention of international law. During the two world wars, medical advances were also observed, especially in vaccines: during the First World War was tested on French troops the first typhoid vaccine.
